Lovely drive home- a stop along the Allegheny River in the Allegheny National Forest, to see the huge Kinzua Dam.
And then a quick stop at the Timberdoodle Interpretive Trail for the last potty stop before we got on Rt. 86 (Southern Tier Expressway) for the long trek home. It was a beautiful little walk (Lucy wore her orthapedic shoes and did great) and I wish we had more time for more exploring!:
But not home yet! We are going to stop and see Sarah C., another college bud, who is visiting her family and having a baby shower in Tioga County, just south of Ithaca. She lives in California now so I definitely wanted to say hi, even though I grossly underestimated the time it would take to get from northwestern PA to Tioga County, and got there late!!! The story of my life, right?? The pups were thankfully whupped and slept in the car (I parked in the shade and put the windows down, no worries) while we caught up.
Erin with her partner Julie and daughters Gillian and Montana (who was unimpressed and wanted to go home, LOL); me, Sarah C., and Mel who is an unofficial Wells woman!!
It was so nice to catch up with Erin and Sarah, and see Mel and Julie again. Sarah seemed to get a ton of baby stuff to get her off on the right foot. One of the shower- games? thingees?- was for everyone to take a "onesie" and decorate it for Sarah. There were fabric markers at the shower but I took mine home to do something more fancy LOL.
So much fun!!!!! And after about an hour and a half visiting, I dragged my tired butt back to the car and drove the pups home to unpack all our camping stuff and clean.
Next camping trip: 8th Lake in the Adirondack Mountains (Fulton Chain of Lakes area) in 2 weeks.
